An ex-servicemen rally, part of the ‘Shaurya Samparavah’ outreach initiative for Armed Forces veterans, was organised on Sunday at Fathima Mata National College, Kollam.
The event was conducted jointly by the Records, The Madras Regiment, and The Madras Regimental Centre, under the aegis of Headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area, in close coordination with the Karnataka & Kerala Sub Area and Station Headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram.
A total of 469 veterans and veer naris attended the rally. The event saw the participation of several key officials and dignitaries, including retired Wing Commander Santhosh Kumar, the Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer, Lt Col Madhu Krishnan (Retd), Officer-in-Charge of the ECHS Polyclinic, AAO Deepa Roy from the SPARSH service centre, Sreegith G.L., General Manager of SBI, and officials from the Army Welfare Placement Organization, Thiruvananthapuram.
A team of doctors from the ECHS Polyclinic, Kollam, conducted on-the-spot medical examinations and provided aid to 223 patients.
A total of 236 grievances were received from the veterans and their next-of-kin, with immediate redressal ensured during the event.
Lt Col Anand Kumar K.K., the officer-in-charge of the rally, highlighted the various proactive initiatives undertaken by the Records, The Madras Regimental Centre. He specifically emphasized their dedicated efforts to resolve issues pertaining to pension, documentation, and general welfare, and underscored their strong commitment to spreading awareness regarding different veteran welfare schemes.
