Faculty of SRIHER elected as eminent scientist member of National Academy of Medical Sciences

A faculty of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) has been elected as an eminent scientist member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India). Murugesan Arumugam, assistant professor, Faculty of Pharmacy, SRIHER, has been elected for this post, according to a press release.

Mr. Arumugam’s research focussed on drug discovery and the pathophysiology of migraine, the release said. At present, he is doing research to develop new approaches for nicotine addiction and detoxification. Mr. Arumugam has also received various accolades including the UGC-BSR Fellowship, the CSIR-Pool Scientist Fellowship and the Royal Society (UK) Drug Discovery Award.
