Fire guts tyre shop in Petbasheerabad; no injuries reported

A fire mishap was reported at ‘Sunrise Tyre World’ in Petbasheerabad during the wee hours of Saturday.

The fire call was received at 3.55 a.m., after which four fire tenders were rushed to the spot, an officer from the fire control room said.

“Local residents noticed the blaze and alerted the fire department. Firefighters battled the flames for nearly three hours before bringing the situation under control,” said the officer. Officials at the scene said an electrical short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, though the exact cause is still being verified.
