Firm sealed for manufacturing single-use plastic

The Puducherry Pollution Control Committee (PPCC) has sealed a firm involved in the manufacture of banned plastic carry bags.

Acting on instructions from N. Ramesh, Member Secretary, PPCC, a team conducted a surprise inspection at a unit in Odiampet near Villianur on Thursday. It found that the unit was involved in the manufacture of single-use plastic items, including carry bags.

The team seized the materials and sealed the unit.
