Five persons, including four tourists, were trapped in a sky dining restaurant at Anachal near the Munnar hill station in Kerala’s Idukki district on Friday (November 28, 2025).
According to reports, the incident occurred around 1.30 pm. A four-member family from Kannur and a staff have been trapped in the restaurant.

The diners were hoisted 120 ft above the ground to enjoy the panoramic view of Anachal village in the hill station, but due to a technical malfunction in the crane, they were left stranded. According to the operators, they cannot lower it as the crane’s hydraulics have stopped functioning.
Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Munnar reached the spot to rescue the tourists.
Idukki District Collector Dineshan Cheruvatt told the media that the trapped tourists would be brought down soon.
According to officials, rescue efforts are ongoing.
