Forensic experts inspect the site of collapsed check dam for analysis to determine the cause

A forensic team on Monday (November 24) inspected the site where a check dam across Manair river collapsed at Gumpula village in Peddapalli district on November 21, as part of the ongoing investigation to ascertain the exact cause.

According to the police, the forensic personnel were accompanied by the members of the Clues Team of the State police. The team reportedly collected samples from the site for scientific analysis at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad.

The incident sparked concerns among local farmers, who expressed doubts over the possible sabotage angle behind the check dam’s sudden collapse.

Meanwhile, Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpathy and Police Commissioner Gaush Alam on Monday visited the site and took stock of the situation.
