Former UGC Emeritus Professor at Sri Krishnadevaraya University Rajuru Ramakrishna Reddy has become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) — the learned society in the United Kingdom with the goal of advancing the chemical sciences. The RSC is the world’s leading Chemistry community, advancing excellence in the chemical sciences with over around 55,000 members across the globe.
“I am honored to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry which has more than 300 years of glorious history and is the oldest chemical society in the world,” Mr Reddy said on the achievement.
Till date, there are approximately 55,000 Fellows and Foreign Members, including around 80 Nobel Laureates. Mr. Reddy has receveived numerous distinctions that are noteworthy. In 1999 he received a research award from the UGCand he also received Andhra Pradesh Best Teacher Award in 2005. India’s National Environmental Science Academy in 2006, bestowed upon him the Best Scientist and Fellowship Awards (FNESA).
He received UGC emeritus professorship for the years 2017 to 2019, he served as a UGC-BSR Faculty Fellow from 2012 to 2015. Mr. Reddy was honored for his work in the fields of materials science, spectroscopy, and environmental science and was included in Stanford University’s, America list of the top 2 % of scientists in the world. He has also worked 15 years, as a visiting scholar at the Institute of Astronomy and Interdisciplinary Studies (IUCAA) in Pune, India.
