With the main objective to motivate people and spread science based knowledge, Madurai branch of the forum ‘Makkal Sinthanai Peravai’ (People’s Think Tank) will be inaugurated in Madurai, said renowned Tamil scholar Solomon Pappaiah.
Addressing journalists at a press conference held in Madurai on Wednesday, Mr. Pappaiah said the main objective was to spread awareness and simplify information for the people. The platform would be used to spread the significance of Tamil language, art and culture, literature and heritage.
The motto will be to study the past to shape the future. Clarity on various subjects will be provided to the people regarding skill development, self employment, entrepreneurship, sustainability and utilising resources to achieve growth and success, he said.
The platform will introduce the people to the world of books, create an environment where people can learn values and develop general knowledge. It will help develop social consciousness and social awareness among students, he said.
He said the goal was to achieve 100% literacy while laying emphasis on the importance of libraries in all places, even at homes. The platform will spread knowledge and teach the importance of the protection of natural resources, planting of saplings and equality in society, he said.
