Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan on Saturday organised an event to mark the foundation day of 15 States in the country.

Artisans from the States staged cultural performance before an audience that included Mr. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on the lawns of Raj Nivas. Speaker R. Selvam, legislators and senior officials attended the event.

Earlier, the Lt. Governor, in a message, wished residents on the occasion of Puducherry’s Liberation Day celebrations. The region has a unique place among States and Union Territories in the country, he said. 

He appealed to the people to contribute towards making Puducherry BEST (Business, Education, Spiritual and Tourism hub) Union Territory in the country as envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
