Four arrested in DMK functionary murder case

Four persons were arrested in connection with a DMK functionary murder case on Thursday.

C. Rajendran (43), a resident of Kirankadu in Kariyakovil, was shot dead by unidentified persons on the night of November 21 while he went to his farmland with his wife on a bike. The Kariyakovil police registered a case and investigated.

After six days, the police identified the accused persons as Rajamanickam (37), his wife Jayakodi (32), his brother Palanisamy (43) and his relative Kulandaivel (27) and nabbed them on Wednesday. Investigations revealed that Rajamanickam and the deceased Rajendran were relatives, and a land dispute arose between them. After investigations, the four were remanded in prison on Thursday.
