Four Ayyappa devotees from A.P. killed in road accident in Tamil Nadu

As many as four devotees of Lord Ayyappa Swamy were killed in a road accident that occurred near Rameswaram of Tamil Nadu after having darshan in Sabarimala of Kerala. According to police personnel here, the accident occurred on Saturday early morning when a speeding lorry hit their stationary car near Rameswaram. The devotees who belonged to Korapuvalasa and Marupalli villages of Gajapathinagaram constituency of Vizianagaram district died on the spot. They reportedly parked their car to take rest but it was hit by the lorry.

Minister for MSME and MLA of Gajapathinagaram constituency Kondapalli Srinivas spoke to officials of Rameswaram and requested them to complete the formalities for sending the four bodies to Vizianagaram district. He spoke to family members of deceased persons and assured to extend the support from the government. Minister for Home and Incharge of Vizianagaram district Vangalapudi Anitha spoke to Vizianagaram Collector A.R.Damodar and suggested him to arrange transport to bring back the bodies. She urged the Ayyappa devotees to take utmost care when they visit Ayyappa temple in personal vehicles. She requested them to use public transport for safe journey during pilgrimages.
