The Nacharam police arrested three youths and a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday, November 4, for the murder of Muralikrishna, a resident of Kalyanipuram, Uppal, whose body was found in the IDA Nacharam area late on Monday night.
The arrested were identified as Mohammad Junaid alias Jaffer, 18, Sheikh Saifuddin, 18, and Ponna Manikanta, 21, along with a minor boy aged around 16 years. The four were apprehended from the Moula Ali area after an investigation led by Inspector K. Dhanyunjay of Nacharam Police.
According to the officer, the group offered a ride and picked up Muralikrishna near LB Nagar and went towards Uppal. While eating at a tiffin centre near NGRI, an argument broke out between them, escalating into a violent attack. The accused then took the victim to a deserted spot in IDA Nacharam, where he was stabbed to death. They later attempted to destroy evidence, including the knife and their blood-stained clothes.
Police recovered the car (TG 08 U 1388) used in the offence and seized key forensic material from the scene. Inspector Dhanyunjay described the case as a senseless act of violence among acquaintances, adding that the accused were arrested within hours of the crime. The arrested persons have been remanded in custody and the minor sent to a juvenile home.
