The Annamayya district police on Monday (November 24, 2025) arrested four men on charges of committing multiple robberies and chain-snatching offences, and recovered stolen property worth over ₹15 lakh.
Addressing a press conference here, Additional SP (Administration) M. Venkatadri said that a special police team led by Deputy SP (Rayachoti) M.R. Krishnamohan, with police personnel from Kalakada and KV Palli stations, intercepted the suspects near Thimmapuram Cross in KV Palli mandal early on Monday following specific intelligence.
The accused identified as Kunchepu Purushottam, Pujari Shankarayya, Kunchepu Mohan Babu (a government veterinary assistant) and Bandi Balaji, were allegedly targeting women in Sambepalli, Kalakada, Kalikiri, Pileru, Gurrankonda and KV Palli mandals. The Additional SP said that the gang had threatened and robbed a textile trader on November 10, 2025.
Recovered property included six gold chains weighing 140 gm, ₹40,150 in cash, four motorcycles, four mobile phones and 15 silk sarees. A case has been registered and the accused were sent for remand.
