Four persons accused of assaulting youth in Bajpe

Four motorcycle-borne men were accused of assaulting a youth under Bajpe police station limits on Monday.

In a statement, Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said Akhilesh saw four persons holding knives and going on a motorcycle. He followed them and started recording them on video. One of the four assailants hit Akhilesh on his hand with a knife.

As Akhilesh raised his voice, the local people chased the four. They caught one of the alleged assailants and handed him to the police.

Mr. Reddy said Akhilesh had a simple injury on his left hand and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. All the four alleged assailants have been identified. The police found CCTV camera images that showed the alleged assailants coming out of a bar, which was a few minutes before the attack. All the accused will be arrested soon and they will be checked for consumption of liquor, Mr. Reddy said.
