Jammalamadugu MLA and Government Whip C. Adinarayana Reddy visited Kondapuram mandal, along with Kadapa District Collector Sridhar Cherukuri, where the evacuees of Gandikota project renewed their appeal for a suitable dwelling place.
As part of their visit to the constituency, the MLA and the Collector visited the Tallaproddatur R&R Colony on Tuesday, where the villagers displaced by the project, have been given shelter. During an interaction, some of the residents informed that they wanted the government to shift the police station elsewhere and provide them accommodation in the same site measuring 80 cents of land.
Later, they visited the displaced villages like Kodigandlapalle and Settivaripalle, where the residents once again submitted their representations for payment of suitable compensation to them.
At the Gandikota reservoir, the Collector sought details from the Engineering officials on the water level, inflow, backwater, submerged villages, pending R&R, among others. Revenue Divisional Officer Sai Sree, GNSS Superintending Engineer Chinna Konda Reddy, TDP youth leader Bhupesh Subbarami Reddy and others accompanied the team.
