In view of continuous rains caused by Cyclone Montha, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan and Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency Commissioner A.V. Ranganath inspected the Lakdi-ka-pul area on Wednesday (October 29, 2025) to assess water-logging and traffic disruption.

The officials expressed concern over rainwater stagnation near Mehdi Function Hall, which has been affecting traffic flow. They directed engineers to clear the accumulated water immediately and expedite the ongoing pipeline works. The officials noted that drainage lines had already been laid on both sides of the road but stressed the need to link sewage and stormwater pipelines from Mahavir Hospital and Chintal Basti to prevent further flooding.

They instructed that the cleaning of pipelines between Mahavir Hospital and Mehdi Function Hall be completed within two days to ease waterlogging and ensure smooth traffic movement. The traffic police were also asked to coordinate closely with GHMC officials to facilitate quick completion of the works.
