The Telangana BJP has demanded that the Congress government disclose the expenditure incurred on the ‘Telangana Rising Global Summit’, the State’s true financial position, and total loans raised in the last 19 months.
At a press conference on Thursday, official spokesperson N.V. Subash accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of adding over ₹2 lakh crore in fresh debt and now attempting to ‘whitewash’ his government’s failures through the summit, which itself is a ‘lavish PR spectacle’ designed to mask the government’s ‘monumental’ fiscal mismanagement and ‘total failure’ to honour even a single guarantee made to people.
“Instead of rising, Telangana is reeling under Congress rule of rising debts, rising inflation, rising power tariffs, and rising lies. The only thing truly rising is the government’s appetite for loans and its addiction to publicity,” he said.
Mr. Subash further criticised the government’s acronyms, stating that Mr. Revanth Reddy’s so-called ‘CURE’ is nothing but a – Cracked Urban Region Economy – with Hyderabad’s core economy weakened, cash-starved, and directionless. Contractors remain unpaid, and infrastructure projects are stalled.
‘PURE’ is actually a Poor Urban Region Economy with zero attention from the government, while ‘RARE’ has degenerated into a Ruined Agri Region Economy with farmers facing delayed ‘Rythu Bandhu’ payments, unpaid input subsidies, broken procurement promises, and growing distress, he maintained.
It is ‘shameful’ that a government which cannot clear pending bills, pay salaries, or fulfil its six guarantees is now splurging crores of public money on a summit meant solely to mislead investors and misguide the public. The people of Telangana do not need flashy summits or fancy acronyms. They need jobs, investment, irrigation, better roads, financial discipline, and an honest government, he asserted.
He further appealed to citizens to participate in the protest programme being organised by the party under the leadership of BJP chief N. Ramchander Rao at Indira Park on December 7 under the slogan — “Disappeared guarantees and unfulfilled promises” aimed at exposing the ‘failures’ of the Congress Government.
