A vendors’ meet organised by FaMe-TN (Facilitating MSMEs of Tamil Nadu) of the Government of Tamil Nadu for supplying small-scale industry products to government and public sector undertakings was held at the MADITSSIA auditorium on Friday.
The seminar was inaugurated by MADITSSIA president V. Senthikumar. The FaMe-TN general manager Venkatesan spoke on the services provided by it to the small-scale industries.
District Industries Centre Manager S. Ganesan requested the SSIs to utilise the meet as an opportunity to supply their manufactured goods to government and public sector undertakings.
Various speakers and technocrats said that small, micro, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Tamil Nadu manufacture various products, including automobile spare parts, electronic devices and components for the aerospace sector. Although the products of many companies are needed by Central and State government organisations, they often do not know the procedures for marketing/selling them.
Therefore, to bridge the business gap between large enterprises and MSMEs, FaMe-TN organised the meet, facilitating interactions among different stakeholders.
Technical experts from the Tiruchirappalli Ordnance Factory, ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) – Mahendragiri, Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority – Thoothukudi, and the National Atomic Power Plant -Thoothukudi, participated. They explained the goods required by their organisations and the procedures for vendor registration.
The process for registering on the GeM (government e-marketplace) portal was also explained. Over 150 small and micro entrepreneurs from the southern districts participated.
MADITSSIA secretary J. Ashok and many other executives attended the event, a release said.
