A total of 10 districts in Tamil Nadu will get 13 new government primary schools, while four government primary schools will be upgraded to middle schools.
According to a Government Order issued by the School Education Department, the schools will be established in Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Tirupattur, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Kancheepuram and Nagapattinam districts, among others, while four primary schools in Vellore, Villupuram, and Nagapattinam districts will be upgraded.
The order follows the announcement of the creation of primary schools by School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi in the Legislative Assembly during grant requests.
The G.O. added that 39 teacher posts had been created at the newly established schools, and directed that necessary infrastructure be made available there.
