Govt. lab technicians stage demonstration

Members of Tamil Nadu Government Medical Laboratory Technicians’ Association staged a demonstration on Madurai Medical College premises on Tuesday, urging the State government to fulfil their 20 pending demands.

They demanded that the government should take necessary steps to fill the vacancies in various posts. They also demanded that periodical promotion should be ensured to them. Another major demand of the protestors was recruitment of employees on a permanent basis and through a proper selection process, and not on a contract basis.
