GPCON-2025: focus on role of general practitioners in healthcare

The Indian Medical Association’s College of General Practitioners (headquartered at Chennai) will hold its national conference “GPCON-2025” on December 6 and 7 in Vizianagaram. The conference will discuss the role of artificial intelligence in general practice and other challenges faced by the medical fraternity. On December 5, a workshop on basic life support will be held on the same premises.

College Dean V.S. Prasad, conference organising committee chairman M. Venkateswara Rao and IMA State past president J.C. Naidu held a preparatory meeting on Wednesday to discuss about the arrangements for the more than 800 delegates who are expected to participate in the scientific deliberations.

Addressing the media, Dr. Prasad said that IMA National president Dr. Dilip Bhanushali and other medical experts will discuss the role of general practitioners against the backdrop of spread of several new diseases such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and others found among youth due to the change in lifestyle.

IMA-Vizianagaram District president V. Ashok, IMA-Vizianagaram District secretary Lanka Srinivas, the conference organising secretary A. Madhukar, and the conference organising committee members Bhavani Shankar, Mahendra Giri , Varma and others were present.
