GPCON-2025 to focus on non- communicable diseases

The Indian Medical Association’s College of General Practitioners Dean V.S. Prasad on Thursday said that doctors across India should focus on non- communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and others as they have become major health challenges for society, surpassing communicable diseases like measles, influenza, hepatitis, HIV and others.

While speaking to The Hindu in Vizianagaram, he said that the College’s annual national conference GPCON-2025 which will be held in Vizianagaram on December 6 and 7, will focus on lifestyle diseases. India’s top medical experts and over 800 delegates will take part in scientific deliberations on topics such as past-present-future of Oncology, management of common sexual problems, spot early-live better, work life balance among medical professionals and more.

“The College established in Chennai in 1963 emphasises that doctors should focus on Continuing Medical Education. The continuous improvement of medical knowledge and understanding usage of latest technology in surgeries, recommendation of new medicines and others would be discussed in the two day conference.” he added.
