Handbag found at Madurai railway junction restored to owner

A bag containing cash and two costly mobile phones left behind by a woman passenger at Madurai Railway junction was restored to the family on Friday.

According to the Railway Protection Force sources, a railway employee, Lakshmanan, had found the handbag lying on the foot over bridge at the station.

After he handed it over at the RPF office, Assistant Sub-Inspector R. Balasubramanian, found ₹1,710 and two mobile phones, totally worth ₹ 62,710 along with two unreserved tickets.

Probe revealed that the bag was left behind by a passenger named M. Nalini, 53. Later, the properties were handed over to her son.
