Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday (December 3, 2025) accused the Trinamool Congress-led government in West Bengal of appeasing a particular section for vote bank politics and “targeting” the Hindu community by resorting to discriminatory politics.
Mr. Saini was speaking to media persons in Chandigarh after releasing the second installment to eligible women under the Haryana government’s ‘Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’.
“West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government is focused on appeasing a particular section, while the general public, especially women continues to face harassment and exploitation,” he said.
“The Hindu community is being targeted in West Bengal and it is unfortunate. This should not happen. Instead of fulfilling her constitutional responsibilities, Mamata Banerjee is indulging in discriminatory politics,” he added.
“Although people entrusted her with a constitutional position, but contrary to that, she indulges in discrimination and engages in vote-bank politics. The state’s social structure has been weakened by giving place to outsiders, which is why initiatives like SIR are being opposed,” he alleged.
CM Saini said that despite West Bengal having a woman Chief Minister, the condition of women in the state was suffering and their situation was deteriorating.
The Chief Minister said that, in contrast, all the schemes introduced by the Central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are designed with the overall welfare of 140 crore Indians in mind.
“These initiatives aim to simplify the lives of ordinary citizens and ensure direct delivery of benefits. He said that the West Bengal Chief Minister is occupied with catering to a limited section of society,” he said.
