The Kerala High Court has directed the chief police coordinator to furnish a comprehensive report about all police officers holding critical positions at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam and at Pampa, along with the duration of their respective postings.

The list must also include the names of all officers who were continuously posted at Sabarimala for a period exceeding two years, and details of their present assignments. In addition, the court sought details of the performance, character, and conduct of a police controller who had served for over two decades at the Sannidhanam.

“We are of the view that the continued posting of the same officer in such a position of responsibility for such a prolonged duration can result in institutional entrenchment, adversely affecting transparency, efficiency, and the impartial administration of the affairs,” the court said.

The chief police coordinator was also directed to furnish a report about the service inputs, including the performance, character, and conduct of the present police controller. The report must also specifically indicate whether any adverse remarks, demerits, or disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against the officer during his period of service in the department.
