The Telangana High Court on Monday passed a direction staying the Central Administrative Tribunal-Hyderabad bench order which directed the Central and the State governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to facilitate her cadre allocation to Telangana State.
A bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G.M. Mohiuddin passed the order in a writ petition filed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the Union government challenging the ruling of the CAT-Hyderabad bench. An IAS officer of 2010 batch, Amrapali Katta had been serving in Telangana State after it was carved out of undivided AP State in 2014.
However, the DoPT as part of allocation of IAS officers between the two States passed an order allocating her to A.P. The officer challenged this order by knocking the door of the CAT-Hyderabad bench which passed an order in June instructing the governments to allow her to serve in Telangana. The DoPT challenged the decision of her cadre allocation to Telangana by filing the writ petition.
