1. Karnataka farmers warn against resuming safari in Bandipur and Nagarahole, threaten agitation
Amid growing speculations that the authorities were toying with the idea of resuming safari in Bandipur and Nagarahole, farmers in the region have warned against it and threatened to lay seige to the forest department. The government suspended safaris in both the tiger reserves early this month following back-to-back tiger attacks in which three farmers died.
Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar B. Khandre announced the suspension of safaris as a measure to reduce anthropogenic pressure on wildlife habitat. But stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sector sought a resumption of safari citing loss of livelihood. There were speculations that the forest department was also keen to resume safari in due course due to fall in revenue.
Peeved by the development, farmers in the region have accused the authorities of serving the cause of wealthy investors and politicians with stakes in the hospitality sector, rather than address the concern of the local villagers who face the brunt of the human-wildlife conflict.
2. Congress high command has to put full stop on CM change confusion in Karnataka: Siddaramaiah
With the power tussle within the ruling Congress in Karnataka refusing to die down, CM Siddaramaiah on November 25 said the party high command should ultimately take the decision to put an end to this confusion. Reiterating that he will abide by the high command’s decision on the issue of CM change, he said legislators are free to meet the party leadership and share their opinion.
While Siddaramaiah is pushing for a reshuffle of his Cabinet, Shivakumar wants the party to first decide on leadership change, party sources said. According to several insiders, if the high command approves the cabinet reshuffle, it would signal that Mr. Siddaramaiah will complete the full five-year term, which will scuttle the chances of Shivakumar from occupying the coveted post.
3. Bengaluru ATM cash van heist: City Police arrest nine, recover ₹7.1 crore
With the arrest of nine people, including a police constable, involved in the ATM van robbery case, the Bengaluru city police have recovered ₹7.1 crore out of ₹7.11 crore (98.6%) that was robbed on November 19, 2025. City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh appreciated the team’s work and awarded certificate of appreciation to all the 200 personnel involved in the operation.
The accused have been taken into custody and further investigations are on to recover the rest of the money from them. It was a meticulously-planned robbery executed badly, an officer said. While the police faced many challenges, the toughest part was the arrest of the trio who had hired a cab to Hyderabad and used the cab driver’s number to misguide the police, the official said.
