Telangana Revenue Minister, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, said the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation Policy (HILTP) was formulated during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime and it was K.T. Rama Rao, who signed the file pertaining to the policy when he was a Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister in the BRS regime.

“Mr. Rama Rao had conveniently forgotten the fact that it [BRS] had auctioned lands at Kokapet and Neopolis. Did he (KTR) forget the manner in which the ORR maintenance was leased out?” he asked.

Mr. Rama Rao and his father (former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao) changed land use to suit their convenience in lure of commissions and auctioned vast tracts of land. “The BRS Government has converted the land in L.B. (Lal Bahadur) Nagar into residential zone in spite of complaints from the residents about the pollution caused by the industry there,” he recalled.

The same was the case with lands abutting IDPL. “The father and son duo had ensured the conversion of lands in these areas. Which policy did they follow?” he questioned. The Minister alleged that the stand of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the BRS was the same in respect of the HILTP and said: “One party prepares the script and the other enacts the drama.”
