Horticulture Department officers associations in Dindigul staged a demonstration on the premises of the Dindigul Collectorate on Thursday demanding that the State government drop UATT 2.0 (Uzhavar Aluvalar Thodarbu Thittam).
They said the programme would in no way help the farmers in the State. Instead, the farmers would be affected, they said. They urged the government to form an experts committee. The State-wide protest by the Horticulture department employees was to draw the attention of the authorities, they said.
