Conservancy workers of Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar and Royapuram Zones, who are protesting since August 1, said they would not resume duties until Chief Minister M.K. Stalin held talks on privatisation of solid waste management.Â
The workers, formerly under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission with the Greater Chennai Corporation, and led by Uzhaippor Uriamai Iyakkam, said the protest would continue.Â
Association head K. Bharathi said that four women workers had entered the seventh day of a hunger strike that began on November 17 and it would continue till the Chief Minister addresses their grievances.
