IMD issues cold-wave warning for seven Jharkhand districts till November 15

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a cold-wave warning on Wednesday (November 12, 2025) for seven Jharkhand districts till November 15, 2025.

The IMD issued a “yellow” alert for seven districts: Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, and Simdega from November 12 to 15.

The Ranchi IMD Deputy-Director and weather scientist Abhishek Anand said, “The seven districts are likely to experience a dip of 2-3 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures, taking the temperatures below 10°C during the next three days.” He added, “In the past 24 hours, some districts recorded minimum temperatures below 10°C.”

Ranchi recorded a minimum temperature of 10.7°C on Wednesday (November 12, 2025), a dip of 3°C from normal temperature. Gumla was the coldest place in the State at 7.2°C, followed by Khunti at 8.1°C, and Lohardaga at 9.1°C.

“Jamshedpur recorded 12.4°C, Daltonganj recorded 10.3°C, and Chaibasa recorded a minimum temperature of 14.4°C,” the bulletin said. “Dense fog is expected in the early morning hours, affecting visibility,” it said, urging people to remain cautious.
