Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will co-chair the third India-Indonesia Defence Ministers’ Dialogue with his Indonesian counterpart Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, in New Delhi on Thursday (November 27, 2025).

The Ministers are expected to exchange views on regional security, multilateral cooperation, and explore avenues to further deepen bilateral defence collaboration, the Ministry of Defence said.

Mr. Sjamsoeddin’s two-day visit to India on November 26-27 underscores the growing momentum in India-Indonesia defence ties, and reflects the mutual commitment to expand the strategic partnership. The visit follows that of the Indonesian President to India earlier this year.

India and Indonesia share civilisational ties that span thousands of years, with deep-rooted cultural, historical and maritime linkages. In recent years, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations has strengthened through enhanced cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels, supported by frequent high-level engagements, and India’s Act East policy.

The meeting is being viewed as a significant follow-up to the major defence agreement involving the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, marking an important step forward in India’s expanding defence export programme.
