Indo-French seminar to develop sustainable strategies for plant health begins at TNAU

COIMBATORE: A three-day Indo-French seminar on ‘Interface of Plant Disease Epidemics, Food Safety and Food Security: Implications for One Health’ got off to a start on Wednesday at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University to develop sustainable strategies for managing plant health, public health and the environment.

Organised by TNAU’s Department of Plant Pathology, and Centre for Plant Protection Studies, in collaboration with Institut Agro Rennes-Angers, France, the seminar marks a significant step towards strengthening international research collaborations, and promoting scientific dialogue for global food and health security, V. Balasubramani, Controller of Examinations, TNAU, said.

Frédéric M. Hamelin, French coordinator from the Institut, dwelt on the collaborative outcomes expected from the ongoing research partnership.
