ISRO chairman Narayanan to participate in IRISET’s annual day today

Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET) will be celebrating its 68th annual day with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) V. Narayanan delivering a keynote address on the occasion on Monday (November 24) at the institute premises in Secunderabad.

IRISET is one of the seven centralised training institutes of Indian Railways specialized in imparting training on railway signalling & telecommunication systems. The institute can train 500 students at a time and has 11 laboratories in different areas of specializations like Kavach, outdoor signalling, train detection, electrical signalling, block signalling, train traffic control, optic fibre cable communication systems, telephony and networking.

On an average, 5,500 officers and supervisors are trained here in a year. So far, IRISET has trained 1,20,549 personnel since its inception, said a press release.
