IUML leader felicitated in Tiruchi for Thagaisal Thamizhar award

M.I.E.T Educational Institutions and Muslim Literary Society, Tiruchi, on Monday felicitated Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader K.M. Khader Mohideen on being conferred the Thagaisal Thamizhar Award by the State government.

The programme, held at M.I.E.T Engineering College in Tiruchi, saw the participation of prominent members of the Muslim community in the city in the presence of A. Mohamed Yunus, chairman, M.I.E.T. Educational Institutions. It was held in collaboration with the local branches of Anjuman-e-Himayat-e-Islam, Jamat-e-Islami Hind, and Tiruchi district Mohalla Masjid Jamat Peravai.

M.A. Aleem, neurologist, praised Mr. Mohideen for his contribution towards social harmony, and his ability to rise above political divides in his service to society.

Mr. Mohideen, a senior political leader, had a long association with late DMK leader and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, and was also the editor of Manisudar.

Haj Mohideen, Tiruchi branch head, Jamat-e-Islami Hind, M.M. Shahul Hameed, former vice-principal, Jamal Mohamed College, senior physicians M.S. Ashraf and A. Zameer Pasha and IUML leaders were among the speakers.
