Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Saturday alleged that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) had been looted during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime, and said it was surprising that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy considered as trivial the laddu ghee adulteration and Parakamani theft cases.
Addressing the mediapersons at the TDP office, near Mangalagiri, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy said that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had brought in a “group of people” who lacked faith in Lord Venkateswara and placed them at the helm of the TTD affairs. “As a result, the sanctity of Tirumala was destroyed,” he added.
He alleged that TTD’s properties worth hundreds of crores of rupees had been transferred to the YSRCP leaders’ names and the matter was compromised in a Lok Adalat with a clear intention to hush up the case.
Under whose pressure was the case settled in the Lok Adalat, the Minister questioned. Commenting on the issue of ghee adulteration, he said it was the coalition government that detected and brought it to light.
He said the YSRCP government led by Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had looted the State and did not even spare religious places, which was evident from the huge sums misappropriated from the TTD’s coffers, and demanded that the former Chief Minister should apologise for making money out of the world famous Hindu religious institution.
