The makers of Jana Nayaganhave released the first single of the Tamil movie starring Vijay. Touted as the swansong of the superstar, who is set to pursue his political career by quitting cinema after the movie, Jana Nayagan is directed by H Vinoth of Valimai and Thunivu fame.
The song, titled Thalapathy Kacheri and composed by Anirudh Ravichander, is the typical high-energy number of Vijay movies that celebrates the reputation of the superstar in the film industry. The hook line, Thalapathyku indha paatu, enganna pola yaru kaatu (this song is for Thalapathy and there is nobody like him) is a nod to his stardom. Vijay is seen grooving to the song with his stylish steps and the actor is joined by the female lead of the movie, Pooja Hegde.
Jana Nayagan is set to hit the screens on January 09, 2026. The movie is touted to be a political actioner. In June this year, the makers had released the first glimpse of the movie. Titled ‘The First Roar’, the video begins with the word En Nenjil Kudiyirikum (to those who live in my heart), the famous line the actor-politician utters at the beginning of his public speeches. The glimpse video introduces Vijay as a cop wielding a blood-stained sword.
Starring his Beast co-star Pooja Hegde as the female lead, the film features an ensemble star cast that includes veteran Bollywood actor Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Mamitha Baiju.
This is Anirudh’s his fifth collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi, Master, Beast, and Leo. With Sathyan Sooriyan handling the cinematography, the film has Pradeep E Ragav as the editor, Analarasu as the stunt choreographer, and Selvakumar as the art director. Anal Arasu is the action choreographer.
Jana Nayagan is produced by Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, and co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK. KVN Productions is also behind the magnum opus Toxic, starring Yash.
