The J&K government has submitted a proposal to J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to grant age relaxation to job aspirants in the Union Territory (UT).
“The Chief Minister’s Secretariat has approved the file and forwarded the age relaxation proposal. The proposal has now been sent to the Raj Bhawan for its consent,” NC leader and legislator Tanvir Sadiq said.
According to job aspirants, the past six years have seen the cancellation of many selection lists and many lists faced legal challenges. They claimed that under the Lieutenant Governor recruitment was slow.
After the Centre revoked the special status of J&K in 2019, recruitment was delayed due to administrative restructuring, changes in service rules, and prolonged litigation.
