The Director General Resettlement (DGR), under the Ministry of Defence, will conduct a job fair in Telangana on Friday (November 28, 2025) at the Air Force Station in Secunderabad. The initiative is aimed at providing employment opportunities to ex-servicemen while helping corporates tap into a pool of disciplined and skilled professionals from the armed forces.
Recruiters have been invited to register free of charge, with pre-prepared stalls also being provided at no cost. Companies may hire directly at the venue and will have access to a wide range of candidates with experience at junior, middle and senior leadership levels. The DGR has urged all corporates to register on www.esmhire.com for the same.
“Ex-servicemen retire at a young age from armed forces and are performing exceedingly well in various corporate sectors. The hallmark of ex-servicemen is that they are sincere, disciplined, loyal, honest and hardworking. Indian Armed Forces have highly skilled, semi skilled and skilled technicians covering various fields and are flexible for smooth transition into any job in corporate sector,” as per a press release from the Sainik Welfare Department.
Known for their sincerity, discipline and commitment, they possess skills across administrative roles, facility management, security, healthcare, IT, logistics and technical trades such as radio and communication technicians, aircraft, battle tank and vehicle maintenance, electrical work, computer operations, accounting and warehousing among others.
The DGR regularly conducts job fairs in major cities across the country to support employment for ex-servicemen and enable recruiters to meet candidates directly. In Telangana, the Sainik Welfare Department serves as the nodal agency for their employment and is coordinating the upcoming job fair.
Colonel Ramesh Kumar, director of Sainik Welfare for Telangana, appealed to corporate organisations to participate and hire experienced ex-servicemen who can transition smoothly into the corporate environment.
