In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, launched a Drone Surveillance Project on Monday (November 10) at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium in Yousufguda, ahead of the Jubilee Hills Assembly byelection.

A fleet of 139 drones will be deployed across 407 polling stations in the constituency to strengthen security arrangements, monitor polling activities and assist officials in maintaining a smooth and transparent election process. Hyderabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Tafseer Iqbal, attended the event and reviewed the preparedness for poll day operations. The project is expected to provide real-time visual monitoring of sensitive locations, crowd movement and any potential violations of the Model Code of Conduct.

ā€œThis initiative will enhance polling station security and help maintain a fair and transparent election process,ā€ said Mr. Karnan.
