With the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll scheduled for Tuesday (November 11), the District Election Office has urged residents to verify their polling booth details in advance and carry a valid photo identity document on polling day. According to the Voter Guide issued for the 2025 elections, voters can check their booth location digitally or through helpline services provided by the Election Commission of India.
Voters can find their polling booth by using any of the Election Commission’s digital platforms. The voter helpline mobile application allows users to search booths by entering their EPIC number or name. The same information can be accessed through the official website under the ‘Know Your Polling Station’ section. For those unable to access mobile data on polling day, the document notes that voters may call the national helpline number 1950 and provide their EPIC number to receive their booth location details.
The Voter Guide also explains that a Photo Voter Slip, delivered in some households by poll officials or downloadable from the mobile application, serves only as an information slip and is not accepted as identity proof. To be allowed to vote, every voter must present either their Elector Photo Identity Card or one of the other officially approved identity documents.
The list of acceptable identity proofs includes:
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Driving License
- Indian Passport
- MNREGA Job Card
- Passbooks with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office
- Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour/ Ayushman Bharat Health Card
- Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR
- Pension document with photograph
- Service Identity Cards with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies
- Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/ MLCs and Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card issued by the M/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India
Officials have reiterated that voters should confirm their polling booth beforehand to avoid last minute confusion. Polling across the 407 stations in Jubilee Hills will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Security has been strengthened through a three-tier arrangement, and drones will be used for surveillance of sensitive pockets in the constituency.
The Election Office has reminded voters that carrying mobile phones inside the voting compartment is not permitted. Those who require assistance at the booth, including elderly voters and persons with disabilities, may request help from officials.
