The Government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed Justice Ch. Manavendranath Roy, Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, as the Executive Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA).

The Law Department issued G.O. Ms. No. 1694, dated November 10, 2025, following the recommendation of the Chief Justice of the High Court. Justice Manavendranath Roy succeeds Justice Ravi Nath Tilhari, who previously held the post.

According to the order, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, in consultation with the Chief Justice, approved Justice Manavendranath Roy’s nomination under Section 6(2)(b) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and Rule 3(i)(b) of the Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1995.

Justice Manavendranath Roy, who earlier served as a Judge of the High Court of Gujarat, was transferred to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and sworn in on October 27, 2025. As per convention, the senior-most Judge of the High Court after the Chief Justice is nominated as the Executive Chairman of the APSLSA.
