Justice Subhendu Samanta takes charge as Andhra Pradesh High Court judge

Justice Subhendu Samanta assumed charge as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) on Wednesday (October 29, 2025) following his recent transfer from the Calcutta High Court. Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur administered him the oath of office in the First Court Hall. 

HC judges, Advocate General (AG) Dammalapati Srinivas, Additional Solicitor General Challa Dhananjaya, HC Bar Association President K. Chidambaram, Bar Council Chairman N. Dwarakanatha Reddy, Additional AG E. Sambasiva Pratap, Deputy Solicitor General Ponna Rao, Public Prosecutor M. Lakshminarayana, HC Registrar General Parthasarathi and others were present.

A Gazette Notification of the transfer of Justice Samanta by President Droupadi Murmu in exercise of the power conferred by Clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India was published on October 14, 2025.
