HYDERABAD
A delegation of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders led by Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra and former MLA G. Jaipal Yadav met authorities of the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) and requested them to prevent huge loss staring at the farmers of Kadthal in Rangareddy district with the new Bidar-Maheshwaram 765 kV transmission line.
Several farmers of Kadthal village, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad where the value of lands is very high, met BRS leaders seeking their help to prevent the loss staring at them with the construction of the new transmission line by PGCIL. They also explained their problem to working president of BRS K.T. Rama Rao earlier.
Following the suggestion of Mr. Rama Rao, the affected farmers led by Mr. Ravichandra and Mr. Yadav called on the Union Minister of Power Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi on November 3 and submitted a representation on the farmers’ issue with a plea to save the farmers from suffering a huge loss. In response, the Union Minister instructed the PGCIL authorities to look into the matter and prevent loss to the farmers of Kadthal.
As a follow-up to the meeting with the Union Minister, the farmers led by the BRS leaders had a meeting with PGCIL officials in Mr. Ravichadra’s camp office here on Sunday. Chief General Manager B.P. Rath, Senior Consultant Ashok, Deputy GM Santosh discussed the issue with the farmers and BRS leaders at the meeting.
State president of the Sarpanches Association Laxminarasimha Reddy, DCCB Director G. Venkatesh, farmers P. Venkatesh, K. Ramakrishna, G. Penta Reddy, G. Parvathalu, J. Ramakrishna, K. Satyam, G. Ramulu, K. Sriramulu, G. Raju, Abhishek Reddy, Rajender Yadav, V. Yadaiah, K. Keshavulu Goud and others participated in the meeting with PGCIL officials.
The officials assured the farmers that they will apprise the matter to the higher authorities.
