The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam authorities removed encroachments on temple land near Ratham Centre and Kanaka Durga Nagar downhill of Indrakeeladri recently. A hotel and a few shops were located on the land.

Kanaka Durga temple authorities opened a new Arjitha Seva and donations reception office at the site, enhancing convenience for pilgrims visiting the temple. The new facility includes a ticket counter for Arjitha Sevas, a donations reception office, and an information centre.

Kanaka Durga temple executive officer (EO) V.K. Seena Naik stated that the land on which the facility now stands had been under encroachment for years, but has recently been reclaimed for the temple’s use. In addition, a temporary prasadam counter and cloakroom have been set up at the site, operating during temple hours. Devotees can make payments either in cash or through UPI from temple opening hours until closing time.

New counters have been set up at the foothill to make it easier for devotees who cannot climb up to the temple to book seva tickets, make donations, or obtain information. Four battery vehicles will soon be available at the site to transport elderly devotees, the differently-abled, and mothers with infants. A new modern ambulance equipped with advanced facilities donated to the temple by a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company to assist devotees in case of medical emergencies is also made available at the place.
