Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi on Friday laid foundation stone for the mini textile park at Muppilivetti village in Ottapidaram block.

The project has been funded through the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department at a cost of ₹75 lakh.

The facility will include 24 shops, an office and a warehouse, with each shop measuring 72 sq ft. The mini textile park will also feature facilities such as parking, drinking water and other essential amenities.

Thoothukudi district Collector K. Elambahavath, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment minister P. Geetha Jeevan, Ottapidaram MLA M.C Shunmugaiah, Additional Collector (development) R. Ishwarya and other officials were present.
