Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Congress high command has not spoken about any change in leadership in Karnataka, and emphasised that he, along with Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar and all others in the party, are bound to follow decisions taken by the high command. “However, the high command has not said anything on this issue,” he clarified in Mysuru on November 21.

Reiterating his hold over the administration, Mr. Siddaramaiah said he would be presenting the next two State budgets, downplaying speculation about a ‘November revolution’, and making it clear that he will continue as the Chief Minister.

Mr Siddaramaiah was responding to questions on reports that MLAs loyal to Mr. Shivakumar camping in Delhi to meet senior Congress leaders, sparking speculation about a possible demand for a change in leadership in Karnataka. “Has the high command spoken anything about leadership change,” the CM asked in response.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said that the final authority on all matters lies with the high command, and everyone, including himself, the Deputy CM, ministers, and MLAs must adhere to its decisions. “This applies even to a Cabinet reshuffle,” he added.

He also said he had spoken to Agriculture Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy, who is also in Delhi, and who told him that he was there to meet the Union Agriculture Minister.

The Chief Minister said AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge will be visiting Bengaluru on November 22, and he will meet him during the visit.

Asked whether public comments by MLAs on leadership change would demoralise party workers, he responded that everyone must abide by whatever the high command decides.

However, he skirted a question on whether he would direct MLAs and ministers not to speak publicly about the leadership issue.
