In a note to the Chief Secretary, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed to place the subject before the next Cabinet.

ā€œAlready, we have renamed some of the public universities after Maharshi Valmiki, Rani Chennamma, Akka Mahadevi, Ganga Bai Hangal, and former Prime Ministers like Rajiv Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. Now there is a need to rename some more universities after social reformers and others,ā€ he added.
