The Avadi City Police on Monday arrested a man from Karnataka, who is believed to be a key suspect in a network trafficking ganja from Andhra Pradesh.
During the checks near the Red Hills bus stand, the Prohibition Enforcement Wing noticed a man behaving suspiciously. He was identified as Rajkumar Sharma, 30, of Kodagu District, Karnataka. On searching the shoulder bag in his possession, the police seized 10.5 kilograms of ganja. He was arrested, and a case was registered under the provisions of NDPS Act.
The accused was produced before the Judicial Magistrate-II Court, Ponneri, and subsequently remanded to judicial custody at Puzhal Central Prison.
