KLU student Nelavalli Mukesh, who won a gold medal at the Khelo India University Games.

Nelavalli Mukesh, a student of KL Deemed to be University, won gold medal at the Khelo India University Games. The shooting events of the university games were held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, from November 24. 

In the 10m Air Pistol category held on Sunday at the Rajasthan State Shooting Range, Mukesh outperformed several international shooters to secure the gold medal. Mukesh scored 578 of 600 in the relay round and stood fourth. In the final match, he displayed complete dominance and bagged the gold.

Aditya Malra, an international shooter from Punjab University, won the silver, while Olympic bronze medallist Sarabjyot Singh, also representing Punjab University, secured the bronze.

In the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol team event held on November 27, the KL University team comprising Nelavalli Mukesh, Tanishk Muralidhar Naidu, and Naga Sai Tarun won the silver medal.

Andhra Pradesh State Rifle Association secretary D. Rajakumar, KL University Sports dean Hari Kishore, PDs Gautam, Srihari and others congratulated Mukesh for his achievement.
